Running a new electrical line from a panel and putting in new outlets, lights, switches, etc. is usually charged per item and adds up fast. A new panel installed can run upwards of $2,000 alone. Plumbing is the same situation, codes must be met to insure the safety of the homeowner. Most inspections will go right to the source, so if the panel (electrical) and drains and supply (plumbing) codes have changed since your last inspection (possibly when the house was built), you may be forced to bring it up to code.
